Agile Coach Academy

Our Agile Coach Academy programme is aimed at Agile coaches who are looking to create, embed, and grow deep Agile capabilities within their organisation.

As the old saying goes, ‘Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach them how to fish and you feed them for life.’ The Agile Coach Academy not only teaches you how to master coaching, it embeds within you the ability to master teaching others how to coach too.

Our coach academy consists of smaller monthly group mentor coaching sessions aimed at advanced practitioners alongside monthly deep dive mastering agile workshops which are larger and cover a broader range of topics.

About Your Trainer

This Agile Coach Academy will be led the below experienced Agile Coach mentor:

Who should attend the ACA?

The Agile Coach Academy is the perfect vehicle for individuals who are currently Scrum Masters or Agile practitioners with a reasonable amount of experience as Scrum Masters. Ideally, delegates would hold the Scrum Alliance Certified ScrumMaster certification or equivalent credential from other certification authorities.

The Academy is aimed primarily at those Agile coaches who are looking to create, embed, and cultivate Agile capabilities within their own organisation. Agile Centre do also facilitate assessments and interviews to assist in identifying great candidates for the Agile Coach Academy within the organisation.

What will you learn on the ACA?

There is a significant difference between an Agile practitioner and an Agile Coach. The obvious being the ‘coaching’ element, in that coaching individuals to their highest performance is a separate and valuable skill set in itself that must be mastered both theoretically as well as in practice.

What is less obvious is the difference between being a Scrum Master with a few years of experience in an Agile environment, who occasionally teaches others their knowledge or via their experience versus an Agile Coach who enables, facilitates and mentors high-performance agility across all levels of the organisation, at both the local and/or enterprise level.

Graduating from the Agile Coach Academy makes YOU the difference. Makes your organisation the difference between hiring the very best Agile consultants versus cultivating the very best Agile coaches within the organisation.

What will you receive by taking part in the ACA?

At Agile Centre, our focus lies in creating, embedding, and cultivating Agile capabilities. That said, we get that certification and validation of those capabilities matter too. For this reason, the Academy includes access to heavily discounted certifications including the Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) Certification and Certified Scrum Professional – ScrumMaster (CSP-SM) Certification from Scrum Alliance.

Attendees will also be mentored and guided through the Certified Team Coach (CTC) and/or Certified Enterprise Coach application and certification process via the Scrum Alliance.

The Academy takes the form of:

  • monthly group coaching and mentoring sessions,
  • bi-monthly workshops,
  • access to principal and executive-level Agile coaches with 10+ years of experience,
  • and all the associated curriculum, tools and learning materials necessary to succeed at the highest levels of Scrum and Agile coaching.

On-demand Introduction to Agile & Scrum

ACA Pre-requisites

There are no requirements for joining the Agile Coach Academy, however, this is an intermediate to advanced programme that will build upon your existing experience and knowledge of working with Agile teams and the wider organisation.

Ideally, delegates would hold the Scrum Alliance Certified ScrumMaster certification or equivalent credential from other certification authorities.

What tools do I need?

We will be using Zoom and MURAL for the online training. We require delegates to use a laptop, computer or device with a large screen to ensure you can participate without the limitations of using a smaller device. Some people have found a second screen beneficial.

ACA FAQ’s

How is an Online ACA different from the In-Person ACA?

Bringing the Agile Coach Academy online means that we can open it to a wider audience. Previous cohorts that have come through the Academy have been all been from the same organisation. The benefit of interacting with Agile coaches outside of the same organisation is not only the breadth of experiences that others encounter but also the different perspectives those experiences and cultures bring.

The format of the online Agile Coach Academy is similar to the in-person approach, broken down into shorter time-slots to make it more accessible to coaches working with people to bring Agile thinking to life in their organisations.
