Agile Coach Academy

Our Agile Coach Academy programme is aimed at Agile coaches who are looking to create, embed, and grow deep Agile capabilities within their organisation.

As the old saying goes, ‘Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach them how to fish and you feed them for life.’ The Agile Coach Academy not only teaches you how to master coaching, it embeds within you the ability to master teaching others how to coach too.

Our coach academy consists of smaller monthly group mentor coaching sessions aimed at advanced practitioners alongside monthly deep dive mastering agile workshops which are larger and cover a broader range of topics.

Mastering Agile Workshops
No upcoming events.

The coaching academy is far more than a training course. It taught me new things, but the combination of coaching and group workshops really enabled me to develop my own thinking. I could synthesise lots of different concepts from agile and beyond into my coaching and facilitation that have made me much more effective.

Simon Girvan, private ACA delegate

Sparking ideas off an engaging group of keen, experienced Agilistas turbo-charged my own personal journey to becoming a Certified Team Coach. I felt supported, encouraged and motivated to achieve so much more on the journey than I would have done on my own. Through working with AC via coaching and varied workshops to suit a range of learning styles, my own learning developed at pace. I met some of my greatest friends that I speak to daily – a launchpad for your Agile Coaching mastery for sure!

Richard Freeman, private ACA delegate

The coaching academy has unlocked the knowledge and confidence I needed to be a better coach. This has made a real difference for individuals and teams in my organisation and has given me a platform to achieve my own personal goals. The level of support and advice is exceptional throughout.

Chris Yardy, private ACA delegate

Who should attend the ACA?

The Agile Coach Academy is the perfect vehicle for individuals who are currently Scrum Masters or Agile practitioners with a reasonable amount of experience as Scrum Masters. Ideally, delegates would hold the Scrum Alliance Certified ScrumMaster certification or equivalent credential from other certification authorities.

The Academy is aimed primarily at those Agile coaches who are looking to create, embed, and cultivate Agile capabilities within their own organisation. Agile Centre do also facilitate assessments and interviews to assist in identifying great candidates for the Agile Coach Academy within the organisation.

If your organisation are seeking to become a high-performance, Agile organisation that unleashes people’s creativity and passion, reach out to our Agile Coach Academy team and discover how we can assist you with that.

What will you learn on the ACA?

There is a significant difference between an Agile practitioner and an Agile Coach. The obvious being the ‘coaching’ element, in that coaching individuals to their highest performance is a separate and valuable skill set in itself that must be mastered both theoretically as well as in practice.

What is less obvious is the difference between being a Scrum Master with a few years of experience in an Agile environment, who occasionally teaches others their knowledge or via their experience versus an Agile Coach who enables, facilitates and mentors high-performance agility across all levels of the organisation, at both the local and/or enterprise level.

Graduating from the Agile Coach Academy makes YOU the difference. Makes your organisation the difference between hiring the very best Agile consultants versus cultivating the very best Agile coaches within the organisation.

What will you receive by taking part in the ACA?

At Agile Centre, our focus lies in creating, embedding, and cultivating Agile capabilities. That said, we get that certification and validation of those capabilities matter too. For this reason, the Academy includes access to heavily discounted certifications including the Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) Certification and Certified Scrum Professional – ScrumMaster (CSP-SM) Certification from Scrum Alliance.

Attendees will also be mentored and guided through the Certified Team Coach (CTC) and/or Certified Enterprise Coach application and certification process via the Scrum Alliance.

The Academy takes the form of:

  • monthly group coaching and mentoring sessions,
  • bi-monthly workshops,
  • access to principal and executive-level Agile coaches with 10+ years of experience,
  • and all the associated curriculum, tools and learning materials necessary to succeed at the highest levels of Scrum and Agile coaching.

How is an Online ACA different from the In-Person ACA?

Bringing the Agile Coach Academy online means that we can open it to a wider audience. Previous cohorts that have come through the Academy have been all been from the same organisation. The benefit of interacting with Agile coaches outside of the same organisation is not only the breadth of experiences that others encounter but also the different perspectives those experiences and cultures bring.

The format of the online Agile Coach Academy is similar to the in-person approach, broken down into shorter time-slots to make it more accessible to coaches working with people to bring Agile thinking to life in their organisations.

Free On-Demand Introduction to Agile & Scrum

To help delegates refresh and develop their Scrum knowledge, purchases of Agile Coach Academy training with Agile Centre includes 12 months free access to our On-demand Introduction to Agile & Scrum training, worth £250.

This online, on-demand modular training is a high-impact video course covering why modern organisations need a new approach to business, as well as exploring the Theory, Practices, and Rules of Scrum.

Delegates will automatically be enrolled onto this on-demand course upon registration to the Agile Coach Academy programme.
