It’s important to distinguish between what you mean by coaching certifications.
Let’s start with Agile coaching certifications.
The answer is yes, the Agile Coach Academy will absolutely help you to achieve Agile coaching certifications such as the Scrum Alliance’s Certified Team Coach and Certified Enterprise Agile Coach certifications.
Both certifications are an application process where you need to validate your skills and demonstrate capabilities as an Agile coach at either the team or the enterprise level.
The Agile Coach Academy will help develop your skills, capabilities and competence as an Agile coach and will also help you with the application process. As you work through the questions in the application process, we will discuss those answers with you on a one-to-one and group basis.
In addition to helping you discover the right answers, we are going to help you develop your line of reasoning and explore the thinking behind the answers you are providing. In some cases, you will be able to raise elements within the group and receive group feedback on what may best serve you.
I am a Certified Team Coach as well as a Certified Enterprise Coach. I also play an active role in helping the Scrum Alliance grade new coaches and review their applications so I will be able to provide you with insights into what the Scrum Alliance is actively looking for in an Agile coach.
An Agile coach is expected to coach, teach, and mentor teams. A coach is not. Therein lies the difference between the two.
As a certified coach, you would simply be coaching others and helping them to discover and explore the best opportunities available to them.
As an Agile coach, you would be able to provide insights, teaching and mentoring to help your coachees overcome the challenges they face and explore new opportunities for growth and self-development.
When it comes to the IC Agile coaching certifications, the Agile Coach Academy would also be able to help you embed the knowledge you gain from those courses and provide you with a platform to actively practice what you have learned from both a coaching and a facilitation perspective.
When it comes to the International Coaching Federation certifications, the Agile Coach Academy would also be able to help you with your coaching skills development and provide you with a platform to actively practice what you are learning in those certification programmes.
At Agile Centre, we are coaches as well as Agile coaches and so we would definitely be able to help you develop your coaching skills.
Coaching is a critical role for scrum masters and agile practitioners and you need to develop that skillset independently of the Agile component.
Helping your team excel and create an environment where others can succeed is a huge responsibility for a Scrum Master and so you would need to develop those capabilities.
Like with the Scrum Alliance certifications, you could bring elements of your International Coaching Federation course into the Agile Coach Academy for discussion, mentoring and coaching where necessary.
The Academy aims to grow the next generation of great scrum masters and agile coaches. We would love to help you grow your capabilities and develop your skillset to the point where you can validate those skills and competencies with international coaching credentials.
If you require more advanced training, Agile Centre provide a 50% discount on any course we provide to members of our Agile Coach Academy so you could sign up for the Certified Scrum Professional Scrum Master or Advanced Certified Scrum Master programs.
There is a lot of group discussion within the cohort, and we actively seek to help our delegates work through challenges and impediments they might be facing in their working environment.
These real-world, hands-on applications really help you understand the kinds of challenges you are going to face in a working environment and provide you with actionable, practical, and pragmatic approaches to overcoming those impediments.
Learning from others’ experiences and challenges, combined with the learning that comes from bringing your own challenges to the table will empower you to learn faster and become a great coach.
You will also be able to practice what you have learned in the courses within the coaching cohort and receive feedback from the cohort that empowers you to learn and evolve as an Agile coach.
So, in summary, yes we definitely will be able to help you achieve coaching certifications. You simply need to bring those elements into the group discussions and inform us of your coaching ambitions.
