The Advanced Certified Scrum Master course is presented over a total of 16 hours. We have two different formats available for the course, namely in-person and live online training.
On the remote, online training courses we structure the course over four half days. So, you can attend in the morning sessions, or you can attend the afternoon sessions.
The in-person courses are presented over two full days, from 9am to 5pm.
The format enables you to choose the style of learning that best works for you and your schedule.
There is a lot of information presented over the ACSM course, so some people do prefer being able to break that down into half-day chunks and allow the subject material to digest.
Regardless of which format you choose; the structure of the course remains the same.
We start with the theory of Agile and explore the history of the Agile movement with the objective of creating a context that is easy to understand.
Why has Agile thrived and how is it relevant to you and your organisation today?
We will be exploring the different Agile frameworks and helping you to understand why these lightweight frameworks have transformed the way we work in the 21st century.
We also look at coaching and facilitation.
These are two core skills of a Scrum Master and an Agile coach.
How do we help people navigate meetings and interactions better and how do we help them improve? How do we coach people to find the best answers they are capable of and how do we help them deploy the solutions they develop?
We also look at the tools and techniques that are necessary to help product owners. They have the difficult job of building products and services that truly delight customers and it’s important that a Scrum Master is available to help and support them in achieving that objective.
We are helping product owners decide what they should do and why it is important that they do. We are helping them create a product vision that inspires the development team and provides the necessary motivation for the development team to create compelling solutions.
Lastly, we are exploring how to be of service beyond the team.
This involves organisational change and helping people understand what kind of interventions are necessary and why they are necessary.
We explore systems modelling and systems thinking to give Scrum Masters a better grasp of how to optimize for the entire system rather than simply optimizing for the local level.
It enables Scrum Masters to see the big picture and play a meaningful role in helping the Scrum team achieve their goals and objectives.
Using tools like impact mapping empowers Scrum Masters to understand the impact of certain decisions, why certain things do not always move in a straight line, and why it is necessary to make allowances for changes throughout the process of becoming an all star Scrum Team.
